FAMILY EVENTS

Picture
Here are the tentative dates for the 2021-2022 School Year:
November 13
December 11
January 22
February 23
March 26
April 23

These evenings are offered as an affordable way for parents to spend some quality time with themselves or each other, while the children get to play with friends.  Some children call it "Kids Night Out!"  Each evening begins with some outside exploration and play, as well as a picnic dinner (slices of cheese pizza included for each child).  Various seasonal crafts, activities and games are always fun, and for the second half of the evening, we get cozy inside with a movie and some fresh popcorn.  The children love snuggling up at school after dark with their PJ's, stuffies, blankets and pillows!

PNO is for children 3 and up and are held
from 5-9pm at the Headwaters Creek Elementary campus

The cost is $40 for one child, or $65 for two.
All children are welcome, not just Headwaters students!

There is a minimum enrollment of 6 needed.  Families will be notified 24 hours in advance if we need to cancel.

Cheese pizza is provided, and you can let us know how many pieces when you register.  We recommend bringing additional fruits & veggies, and any other food your child may like to have.  Please also bring a water bottle, and anything to get cozy with, like sleeping bags, pillows, pj's, stuffed animals, etc.

Great Smokey Mountains National Park
July 11-16, 2021

Come join us for a whole week of camping, unplugging, and connecting with other families. This year we are headed to the beautiful Smokey Mountains!
Located at an elevation of 1,700' our campground is surrounded by picturesque mountain ranges and a pristine mountain stream with rapids and waterfalls. It's a great spot for fishing, swimming, and hiking. Our group site is in the Big Creek Campground, located in the Eastern remote portion of the park, next to the Appalachian Trail, and offers flush toilets and sinks with potable water.

Each family will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the Park, as well as all meals for their family (except dinner the first night, which we will provide). There is a fee of around $600 per family, and we will provide:
Safety and trip logistics
Dinner the first night
Firewood for the week
Guided Hiking
Leave No Trace lessons
Camp cooking ideas
Junior Ranger Badge support

Registration is private, so please contact me if you are interested!

Note: Black Bear sightings are not uncommon, so we will follow protocols of keeping anything smelly in our cars or bear boxes when not in use.
