Parents Nights Out
These evenings are offered as an affordable way for parents to spend some quality time with themselves or each other, while the children get to play with friends. Some children call it "Kids Night Out!" Each evening begins with some outside exploration and play, as well as a picnic dinner (slices of cheese pizza included for each child). Various seasonal crafts, activities and games are always fun, and for the second half of the evening, we get cozy inside with a movie and some fresh popcorn. The children love snuggling up at school after dark with their PJ's, stuffies, blankets and pillows!
These evenings are for children 3 and up and are held from 5-9pm at the Headwaters Creek Elementary campus at 9607 Brodie Ln. Here are the tentative dates for the 2019-2020 School year: Sept. 21st Oct. 19th Nov. 16th Jan. 25th Feb. 22nd March 28th April 25th The cost is $40 for one child, or $65 for two. All children are welcome, not just Headwaters students!
Please bring a water bottle, and any fruits or veggies to accompany the pizza, as well as sleeping bags, pillows, pj's, and anything else your child would like to cuddle up with at the end of the evening.
There is a minimum enrollment of 6 needed, and if more than 12 register, Nature's Wonder will hire an additional, and just as wonderful, staff member to help.
Join us in finding new wonders for which to be thankful. This is the perfect time of year to take time to notice of things we haven't before, and to be thankful for the wonders that nature brings. We will explore leaves and how the change of seasons affects the trees, as well as do some crafts and taste some fall foods. The children love setting up their own restaurants and serving whatever is left in the garden, and creating winter homes for any bugs we find. This camp will take place Nov. 25-26, 2019 at Headwaters Elementary Campus 9607 Brodie Ln., 78748 from 9am-4pm

There's a lot more than you'd think! We'll start by discussing and observing plants and animals that adapt, hibernate or migrate during this colder season. This is a great time to look and care for birds, so we will be talking a lot about birds, as well as learn about what happens to bugs and trees in the winter. Join us for this inspiring camp, where hopefully your children will come away with a newfound appreciation for the "dead" winter time, and a hopeful outlook on the new year and coming spring.

Summer Week-long Camps
Outdoor Nature Camp
Join us for a whole week of exploring! We will be out at the fabulous Mary Moore Searight Park, and the trails offer seclusion and lots of opportunities for exploration. Because we like to follow the children's interests, there are sure to be new discoveries each day, and we will guide and support them as their curiosities arise.
Each camp offers the opportunity to learn about many things, depending on the children's interests. Past interests and topics include Leave No Trace ethics, Biomimicry, plant and bird identification, geocaching, tracking animals, solar energy, learning about rocks and water and their history, mapping, and so much more!
During the week, I ask the children to choose an organism with which they want to connect with and learn more about, whether it's an animal, plant, or element. It is a sweet way to experience our connection with Nature, discover our interconnectedness with all beings, and find empowerment as agents of healing change. Many children also enjoy adopting a "nature name" during the week, and some even connect deeply with a "spirit animal."
This camp is for ages 5 and up, at Mary Moore Searight Park Date TBD from 9am-3pm $275 for one child, $500 for two
This camp requires a $50 deposit to hold your spot, which will be deducted from the total cost. Deposits may be paid online, & remaining balances may be paid online or on your child's first day of camp.
Kids Herb Camp
Throughout the week, we will learn about several different herbs, including their uses and how to prepare or use them. We will incorporate the Herb Fairies curriculum from Learning Herbs, which includes fun stories to help the children learn about and remember the herbs. Each afternoon will include time to play games, cool off with some water play, express ourselves artistically, and create herbal remedies like teas, salves and more!
This camp is for children who have completed a year at our Elementary campus (K-5) and will take place at the Headwaters Creek Campus Date TBD 9am - 3pm $275 for one child, $500 for two
After-care will be available Mon-Thurs from 3-5pm for an additional $50 fee.

Week-long Family Camping Trip At various National Parks
Come join us at some cooler climate for a whole week of camping, unplugging, and connecting with other families. Activities are purposely limited on this trip to foster unstructured play and relaxation. In the past, we have hiked a little each day, done some fishing, played in the creek, and done some sightseeing. We've been to Santa Fe National Forest and Rocky Mountain National Park, and we'll see where 2020 will take us! Each family will be required to provide their own transportation to and from the Park, as well as all meals for their family (except dinner the first night, which we will provide). We will provide: Safety and trip logistics Guided Hiking Geocaching Camp cooking and fire building lessons Leave No Trace lessons Star stories and stargazing
